5 out of 5 stars This one serves me well...   August 15, 2010
Sonoran Cholla (AZ USA)
I use this thermos daily with only one complaint; I would have liked it to be slightly larger. This keeps my coffee hot and it does not leak around the seal (which had become a problem with a travel mug I had purchased at a convenience store). This has a classic look and an easy grip and fits with ease into my car drink holder. I would buy another one tomorrow. - God bless...

5 out of 5 stars Keeps Water Cold for Hours!   July 13, 2010
Paul Migala
This is a review on its use for keeping water cold. Living in Arizona makes a cup keeping water cold is the primary purpose for this use. My wife is the primary user. First of all the cup is easy to use, clean and fits in the car cup holder very nicely. It is easy to open/close the drink flap and comfortable to hold. The cup was put into the refrigerator the night before use. The next morning, ice cubes were put into the cup and cold water added. My wife left the house about 11:30AM and returned about 4:30PM. Unbelievable! The water was still cold and there was ice still remaining in the cup. The car was in the sun all this time, and parked for most of this time. Now the temperature out side was well over 100 degree's, which is hot enough. However, the temperature inside of the car can easily reach 140 to 150 degree's. Yet this cup did its job and keeped the water cold. This was the best Christmas present my wife enjoyed in years.

4 out of 5 stars ~~~~~~~HEADS UP ABOUT CLEANING THIS CUP~~~~~~~~~   June 17, 2010

I bought this for my husband so I have no clue how it works personally... He loves it. The other day I saw him soaking it and I asked WHAT FOR??? He said cause I want it cleaned really good, the coffee has been tasting funky. So... I started cleaning it and low and behold mold started coming out from the seal (top off)... I was so grossed out. I got a toothpick, kinda stuck it under the seal, turned the cup and the mold just started gushing out with each turn. I was about to throw the cup out. Another part is where the lip of the cup is, like above the seal.... more mold coming out of that crevace.

I thought what a waster of $20+ dollars... then I asked him if he thought we could take the lip off? Not the lid, but the black lip of the cup... we thought it was sealed, I turned it and it turned, but did not come off. He got a hammer and got it off VERY EASILY and VERY FAST.

I took off the seal and my lord when you turned that rubber ring inside out it was completely black ALL MOLD. My husband has been drinking this... freaken disgusting, no wonder the coffee tasted weird. I got the lid, yet the lid you drink from and took the seal off of that, the rubber ring seal was also moldy.

I cleaned all these parts with a toothbrush and scrub sponges... you also need a skinny brush head, those you buy to get into baby bottle nipples or small crevices... I had to get in there with that. Because the lid is black you can't tell, but when you take off the rubber seal the black part in there also has mold.

Once I did all this, the cup is now like new and free of mold and I did not have to toss it out. We let all the parts dry through the night. Next morning he put the cup back together, takes a couple minutes, no big deal. He called me from work and told me the coffee tasted like coffee... no weird taste anymore.

So... I believe if you use this cup everyday, you should thoroughly clean it, take it apart atleast twice a week. I can't see it getting moldy that quick and taking it apart everday can get to be a pain so every 2-3 days should be suffice. I wonder if others have noticed this or thrown their cups away thinking there is no way to get rid of the mold caught in the lip and seals? Well.. here is your solution. I never really post reviews, but after I was so grossed out, I told my husband I had to come on and warn others... drinking mold is toxic... just doing my part to help... I would have rated this a 5 for my husband, but took off 1 star because of the cleaning issue, the company should know this and should give instructions on how to clean it and not let people drink mold. UGH !!!

Good Luck :)

3 out of 5 stars No better than the cheap ones   June 14, 2010

I purchased this tumbler after I misplaced my old one. I was hoping for one that would keep my coffee warm for the morning while at work. It did okay for an hour and a half or so, but no better than ones that are half the price. Disappointing.

5 out of 5 stars Great mug   June 2, 2010

Like most other reviewers have said, it is a great mug. Very solid and keeps my coffee toasty warm. I totally switched from a coffee cup to this and won't go back.
